the naked geologist

Last night sure was one of the best nights that I had so far during my summer break here in Brunei. Uncle Arab-Families organized a small gathering event at the main Serikandi Branch restaurant in KB. It happened that there was a Hari Raya shooting going at the same time with Uncle AF giving out donations to the some of the Orphans in Kuala Belait. It was fully packed.

The main highlight for me that night was having to mingle around with my relatives that I only managed to only hang out with them a couple of times during my stay. We had so much fun in doing some crazy stuff with the Hari Raya props especially with Uncle AF kids and Abg Din!! It really felt like it was Hari Raya again back as it was 2-3 years ago and was hoping that the night wouldn’t fell short. Goofing with the twins and rara and cici reminded me how close we are during our youngsters years. I’m glad the bond is still there even though I’ve been away for so long and I hope it will last as long as we are still around 🙂

Thank You Uncle AF for organizing the small advance hari raya celebration for me, it really made my day and THANK YOU to those who came that night. It sure was a memorable event to be remembered.

Yesterday was an opportunity to meet  a couple of friends which I haven’t met since I came back. Although, some of them I manage to meet up in the UK but its not on a regular basis.

I know Dee wants the pictures so might as well post ‘some’ of it over here first before I upload it on my facebook account! The rests of the pictures are not suitable for your viewing pleasure 😛

Posers!

Dee! Are picking your nose? Batal Puasa!! LOL

OMG! Parut alert!

Its a rarity for me to meet up with my friends but At least, I got the chance to meet up with the close ones. Thank you for those who I have meet up so far to take some time and did some catch up session with me. I really appreciate it. Hopefully more to come within this 2 weeks.

Take Care

These past two days, I have been stuffing myself with buffet foods. When it comes to buffet, there are no restrictions at all! It’s an ‘all you can eat’ feast. Have to say, although we’re coming into the 2 week of ramadhan, I can still count how many times I’ve eaten outside = 4.

Among the 4 restaurants that I have eaten, in my opinion Rizqun Coffee House really takes the cake for being the best in the quality of food and choice wise. I don’t really fancy eating much of rice nowadays but there were a handful of choices that I can still enjoy eating at the place without having to involve rice in it. The Bergedel and Hati Buyah are to die for at the Indonesian/malay food counter! They also served roast lamb and beef were an added star to the restaurant. It tastes so heavenly when you eat the lamb/beef with its assorted sauce and POPPADUMS! I know its a weird combo but I tell you I enjoy the crunchy and soft tenderly goodness going through my mouth. HAHA  Oh oh! They even have a satay counter! It is one of the best ones I had so far, even the Ketupats and Satay Sauce is very delicious and easy to blend in together.

Empire Hotel never fails to serve one of the best pasties and desserts around in Brunei. The Kueh Batik and All of those chocolatey goodness cakes really set me up to 7th heaven. It was really that good until I had a couple of rounds of the cakes. Their starters were not so bad as well. I like the whole combination of authentic salads leafs (*like rockets!) and cous cous with a drizzle of french dressing was enough to satisfy me as my first meal! Hehe

Haha as you can see, I really enjoy my food and I can tell good food when I taste one! 🙂 Sorry there aren’t any pictures of the food as most of us would be too busy enjoying our food! 😛

Everything what I’ve mentioned before were based on my honest opinion.

more to come . . . .

Since my summer internship is over, now I have a huge load of work to DO before I had back to the UK.

Work = polishing up my geological maps!, do a cross section! and not to forget my strat logs needs to be taking care of as well! Argh. All under just two weeks! I need a smack on the head for that! I finally now feel the pressure.. but the good side of it is at least I’m ever more motivated.  hehe

Will update more later.
